I wrote the skeletal drum beat around November of 2010 while experimenting with programming drum sounds. The distorted, looped vocals in the end of the song came second and I remember distorting the vocals naturally, plugged into my trusty, blown out, fucked up Karaoke Machine. I recorded them in one take. The synths reminds me of something out of some European Car Commercial. Then I stopped. I couldn't write the lyrics. Something was blocking my concentration. I had written bits and pieces of the lyrics in 2007, and I knew it was a song about passing on and missing the deceased. But I didn't know the song would end up symbolizing the death of one of my relationships. So this is a song about grief and saying goodbye to someone that meant a lot to you. Mourning the loss of love. Oddly, her voice is etched into this song saying "I don't wanna scream!" Neither do I.
Lyrics:
Do you remember our first kiss?
Where did we go wrong?
I mourn our loss everyday
Do you grieve for me to?
Now I'm back at square one,
My atoms they have come undone,
And you keep bothering me,
My heart is stuck in purgatory
Your body's shutting down my love,
We travel to a place above,
I couldn't handle death in life,
But now I'm gone I see the light.
Your body's shutting down my love,
We travel to a place above,
I couldn't handle death in life,
But now I'm gone I see her lies.
We will meet again.
